Testimonials
"I decided to try Ayurvedic treatment as I suffer with chronic anxiety problems and had been feeling worse at that time. Micha offered a treatment called "shirdohara" which was hot oil treatment applied continuously to the forehead along with a head massage. I had a course of 10 treatments altogether. It was very relaxing and each session I relaxed more and more. I went into a deep relaxation and had experiences of my body feeling really light, as if it was floating off the table. At the end of the sessions my anxiety had reduced greatly. Along with the treatments, Micha offered diet advice according to Ayurvedic principles. I followed this advice to a degree and I did feel a lot better. I also recieved other helpful adivce to help my anxiety i.e. breathing techniques, self massage, Ayurvedic herbs and potions, and lifestyle advice. At the end of the treatments I am now at a stage where I am feeling much better about myself and my anxiety has become easier to manage".

"I was suffering from severe ulcerative colitis and was advised by the hospital to begin steroid treatment. As a last resort I decided to try Ayurveda treatment and the results were truly amazing. After just 3 months my symptoms have almost completely gone and I am jumping for joy. I found Michaela to be extremely knowledgeable, friendly and approachable & I would highly recommend her treatments. In my opinion Ayurveda is truly a Godsend".

"Since experiencing the Ayurveda treatments I have noticed a vast improvement in my condition. I used to experience excessive wind, bloatedness, abdominal cramps, dry skin and constipation. My symptoms have almost been eliminated. I would like to recommend Ayurveda to all my friends/family and to anyone who has any health problems or conditions".

"I have been seeing Micha since the beginning of this year, following a bad car accident. It is no exaggeration to say that she has truly brought me back to life".

"Having suffered from a variety of colon problems for about 10 years, including colitis, IBS and diverticulosis, I decided to seek the help of an Ayervedic Therapist. I felt I had exhausted what traditional western medicine had to offer, having seen many specialists, undergoing several barium investigations and colonoscopies, taking endless medications, all to no avail. So I decided, on the recommendation of a friend, to see Michaela Augustin".

"I was a little apprehensive at my first appointment, having had no experience of this approach, but was immediately put at ease by Michaela, who is such a kind and caring person, exuding serenity, calm, and kindness. These elements are also incorporated into her treatment room, where oriental music plays softly in the background, the scent of herbal mixtures hangs in the air, fresh flowers and objets d'art grace the room, creating an atmosphere of beauty and calm. Since all of my previous medical treatments had taken place in hospitals, and included the inevitable white gown, and ghastly, sometimes brutal pre investigation preparations, and anaesthetics, meeting Michaela and entering her space was a breath of fresh air to me. Even the walk through her beautiful Zen garden to reach the front door had a calming effect".

"Michaela patiently explained the basic principles of Ayerveda, and diagnosed me as having too much of the pitta dosha. We discussed the dietary errors I was making, and she gave me guidance on what I should eat to try to redress the balance of my three doshas. As the weeks went by our conversations revealed all sorts of terrible 'pitta' habits that I had; drinking tea and coffee when it was so hot I often blistered my lips! How stupid is that, but I used to do it all the time. Taking baths so hot that I used to gasp when I climbed in, eating food so quickly that I was always finished my meal long before anyone else, drinking too much alcohol and coffee. Slowly but surely Michaela guided me to change these behaviours, and I began to look forward to our meetings, feeling that I was entering a special place, where calm, wisdom and beauty reigned, and for that short time each week I felt protected from my rather hectic lifestyle, and stressful, busy job".

"As the weeks went by Michaela prescribed several herbal treatments, explained how to administer sesame oil enemas, advised me to take up Yoga or Tai Chi again, but the best thing of all was the massage. It's hard to describe how powerful and wonderful these massages were, different from the usual 'stress relief' massages in their depth and intensity. They also allowed Michaela to extend her diagnosis, as she discovered other 'hot spots' in my body; a painful coccyx, old surgical scars which helped her to identify blocked energy channels. These massages went from the tips of my fingers to my toes, and included divine head massage. The experience, despite being a little painful at times, was blissful".

"After six or seven weeks I was feeling better in body and soul. I know I have to work harder at following some of her advice - I still drink a little too much alcohol, and although I have reduced my coffee intake from six to two cups a day I would like to give it up entirely. I still haven't started Yoga or Tai Chi, but am full of good intentions. The real success is that I have managed to reduce the dosage of the extremely uncomfortable laxative prescribed by my GP by 30%, and will continue to work on this".

"Michaela is an inspirational therapist, with a natural gift of caring for people. Her gentle, encouraging approach has been a joy to experience. I am planning to have another course of treatment with her later this year, and I can't wait!"
